Why did you donate?

Je viens juste de donner $50 au Green Party de Nouvelle Zelande, et celui me demande pourquoi. Voici ma reponse:

"Hi

I am fully in support of any measure that can prevent climate change, and improve our lifestyle with a better, healthier environment (better air, less noise, less stress, clean of waterways, more recycling, and biodiversity protection). I believe the Green Party is the right vehicle to push this agenda. I must say, however, that I wish for stronger, more radical wins and changes, now that the Green Party is in the government. I am watching eagerly the policies being pushed. In particular, I am looking forward for a sharp reduction in old, polluting cars imported from overseas and strong incentives and promotion schemes for EVs. Also, public transport should not take any more step towards combustion engine, unlike what has been done in Wellington.

What I want for Wellington

At next year Wellington council election, I hope to find candidates preparing Wellington for projected growth while establishing safeguards to preserve what make its character:

• green spaces;

• tranquility;

• low height buildings.

… while improving what needs fixing:

• public transport;

• better recycling;

• reduce carbon emissions.
